The hotel "Hotel du Nord" in Odessa, which was owned by merchant Charles Sukkar, holds great historical significance as it was the place where the renowned poet Alexander Pushkin resided for a month in July 1823. After Pushkin's stay, the hotel was transformed into a memorial museum dedicated to him, and the nearby Italian street where the house is located was renamed Pushkin Street in his honor.

The Pushkin Museum in Odessa is truly unique. It was in this very place that Pushkin created some of his masterpieces, including "Gypsies" and two and a half chapters of "Eugene Onegin."
